01

Ownership and protected material

Unless otherwise stated, EBA or its licensors own the copyright and other intellectual property rights in website text, graphics, logos, photographs, videos, course materials, assessments, software, databases, layouts and publications. Publication online does not transfer ownership or place material in the public domain. Rights notices, author credits and technical protection measures must be respected.

02

Permitted educational use

Users may view, download or print material for personal, non-commercial learning where the page or resource does not state otherwise. Teachers and partner centres may make limited classroom use when it is consistent with the applicable licence, preserves attribution, protects learner information and does not replace a paid or restricted service. Statutory educational exceptions remain available where applicable.

03

Uses requiring permission

Written permission is required to republish substantial material, sell or commercially exploit content, remove attribution, translate or adapt restricted resources, create misleading derivatives, systematically copy databases, distribute examination content, use EBA branding in advertising or imply endorsement. Permission may include conditions concerning audience, duration, security, attribution, fees or withdrawal.

04

User and partner submissions

A person submitting text, images, recordings, testimonials or learning material must have the rights and permissions needed to do so, including consent from identifiable individuals. Unless separately agreed, the submitter grants EBA a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to store, review, reproduce and use the submission only for the stated educational, safeguarding, reporting or communications purpose. Sensitive learner content will not be published merely because it was submitted.

05

Third-party and open-licensed content

Some resources may belong to partners, authors, publishers or open-licence communities. Those materials remain subject to their own licence, attribution and reuse conditions. EBA makes reasonable efforts to identify sources and permissions but users should review the notice attached to each resource. An EBA page containing third-party material does not change the third party's ownership.

06

Publication, attribution and corrections

Approved reuse should credit Education Bridge for Afghanistan, identify the original title and link to the source where practical. Quotations must be accurate and not presented out of context. Editorial corrections, updated versions and withdrawal notices should be preserved. Public statements must not expose confidential, personal, safeguarding or examination information.

Names, logos and trademarks

EBA names, logos, program identities and visual marks may be protected by trademark, passing-off or similar laws. They may not be used to suggest sponsorship, accreditation, partnership or approval without written authorisation. Approved partners must follow current brand guidance and stop using marks when permission or the relationship ends.

08

Copyright notices and takedown requests

A rights holder who believes material on an EBA service infringes their rights should send a clear notice identifying the work, the disputed material and location, contact details, the basis of ownership or authority, and a good-faith statement. EBA may temporarily restrict material while reviewing the request, seek further evidence, notify the contributor and restore or remove content after a fair assessment.

09

Enforcement and reporting misuse

Unauthorised copying or distribution may result in removal of access, cancellation of permissions, requests to remove material, preservation of evidence or proportionate legal action. EBA will consider educational context, public-interest exceptions, accessibility needs and good-faith mistakes before taking action. Suspected misuse should be reported through the contact or complaint channel with relevant links and evidence.
