Biography
Farshid Mirzadah is an educator, researcher, and development professional with over ten years of experience in higher education, research, project evaluation, and organizational management. He holds a Master of Arts in Sociology from South Asian University in New Delhi (SAARC Merit Scholar) and a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology and Archaeology from Kabul University.
Currently based in Kabul, Farshid serves as Program Coordinator at the Afghanistan Learning Management System (IDEA), where he plans and coordinates home-based education programs, manages donor reporting, and leads operational teams. Previously, he served as Education and Monitoring & Evaluation Manager at Khedmat Development & Learning Organization (KDLO), where he designed M&E frameworks, led data-driven evaluations, and managed programs empowering schoolgirls in rural central Afghanistan through science and English education across nine clusters in the region.
Farshid was also an active freelance journalist for Zan Times, contributed news articles and in-depth research, and worked as a translator converting Dari and Pashto audio content into English. His broader professional experience includes serving as Master Trainer at Mediothek Afghanistan, Faculty Lecturer at Bamyan University, and Research Mentor at Unisfere Foundation. He is the Founder and Director of the Simurgh Network and serves as Executive Director of the Afghanistan Comparative Education Society (ACES).
A recipient of the ICCR Scholarship and the AHRCM BRIDGE Fellowship, Farshid has authored several publications on Afghan youth, gender, and education. His research interests include gender and education, digital learning in conflict zones, sociology of youth, and cultural anthropology. Proficient in SPSS, STATA, KOBO Toolbox, and MS Office, he is recognized for strong analytical thinking, curriculum development, and gender-sensitive pedagogy. His work reflects a sustained commitment to advancing education, research, and community empowerment in Afghanistan and beyond.
